Nemo file manager installation on Ubuntu 14.04

Default file manager on Ubuntu 14.04 is shit for me because the format of modified time shown on the file manager is uncustomizable. Google search told me there are two solutions, (1) compile the nautilus from the source or (2) use another file manager. Nemo file manager is the second solution.

I installed Nemo and set is as my default file manager following this page.

Installation:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/nemo
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nemo nemo-fileroller

Setup as default file manager:

xdg-mime default nemo.desktop inode/directory application/x-gnome-saved-search
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false
gsettings set org.nemo.desktop show-desktop-icons true

Set startup application list:

sudo sed -i 's/NoDisplay=true/NoDisplay=false/g' /etc/xdg/autostart/nemo-autostart.desktop
