activation of Maple installation on Ubuntu

This post is for activation of Maple installation on Ubuntu.

When I tried to activate Maple installation on Ubuntu, I couldn’t activate it. Although I re-run the activation script “SOMEWHERE/maple16/bin/activation”, I got the message window saying “Unable to determine the host ID of your system” and only choice I had was to push “Close” button.
Following this FAQ, I could finally activate and can use Maple now. Maple uses FlexNet, which is a license management software. FlexNet requires LSB meaning that your system needs to have lsb-base and lsb-core. The lsb-core package is not installed by default.
I could successfully activate after installing the lsb-core package 🙂
